E. C. Thomas & Son is an independent family business that was established in 1956 in Pembroke Dock by Mr & Mrs Edward Thomas, both well-known figures in the Pembroke Dock and surrounding areas. Their son, Graham joined the business and continued to manage the business until 2001.
In 2001 Stewart and Elizabeth Treharne took over the business and were keen to enter this specialised profession and to build on the respect and values of the business that was established in 1956. As part of their development strategy, they began professional training with the IFD college with Stewart gaining his Certificate in Funeral Practice, maintaining standards to achieve memberships with the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD), Society of Allied & Independent Funeral Directors (SAIF) & British Institute of Funeral Directors (BIFD).
The ethos of the business is to offer a personalised, dignified and caring service to families in their time of need. The family business now sees continuation, with the next generation – son Daniel, now involved in the running of the business.
